Jazz R2 Maintenance 2 and Jai R2 VLCD 12

Jazz stayed at 82.5 kg this morning. I guessed he has to be happy maintaining at between 82 to 83kg range. As long as he doesn't exceed a kilo from his last weight of 82.1 for Phase 3, he should be alright. Otherwise he has to break the gain by doing an apple or a steak day to get back within the 1 kg range from 82.1 kg. He had quite a lot of food for Iftar the previous day and he cheated on little bite pieces of Roti Boom, a cheat nonetheless. We ate out at Naan Corner, Ampang as it offers a good variety of dishes for Iftar at RM25 per pax. Very reasonable we thought as there's only so much you can eat for Iftar, so it's not worth it to spend so much on expensive buffet.

I had a massive conflict with myself between staying on protocol and succumbing to the various dishes on the buffet... Major mistake in going for Iftar Buffet... :(( I was definitely not strong and focus enough to resist. So, I exceeded my calories for the day....didn't have any starch, but sugar definitely as the dishes would surely be prepared with added sugar as the norm in our local cooking. I didn't gorge, ate reasonably small portion but mind bogling mixture of protein that you can think of ie. beef liver, beef lung, lamb, beef steak, fried tofu, fish soup and cucumber.. Urgh....just writing about it makes me feel so guilty. This is the worst cheat I have ever done, never been this bad in R1. I was pretty good in R1 despite the long 41 days of VLCD. The thing is, being so close to my ideal weight threw me off balance. Lesson learnt.. Avoid temptations, don't put yourself in a vulnerable situation unless you have a solid steel will power. To mitigate, I took 2 packets of Clenz Tea and extra ACV before bed.

After all that, strangely I lost 200 gm to 60.8 kg today. But I don't wanna be happy prematurely, as lesson learnt in R1....the weight can haunt you not the next day but few days after the cheat... Allah forbids that I should stall or gain when I only have a few more days to transition and maintenance.... 800 gm to my target...please let me lose weight tomorrow..

Jazz Maintenance 1 & Jai R2 VLCD 11

First day of Maintenance yesterday and Jazz had reasonably good variety of protein, fruits and veg for Iftar and Sahur meals. Results: a gain of 400 gm this morning to 82.5 kg. Not a worry as we know from previous experience in R1 that the weight will fluctuates but within a safe enough range unless you really gorge or cheat on starch and sugar..

Just like yesterday I released 300 gm of fat again this morning and now at 61 kg. Just a kg to lose to my ideal weight for my age and height.. I am thinking of ending the core phase this Sunday so hopefully in the next 3-4 days I can do a 300 gm daily loss and reached my target comfortably... Fingers crossed.

My hunger so far has been manageable, in fact I have been eating less this fasting month sometimes omitting the fruits and haven't been taking Grissini sticks at all.. Counting the days when I can be on Maintenance and have more food choices to take. I don't mind the no sugar and starch protocol it's just for 21 days anyway, but I just need to eat other stuff ie protein... Squid, lamb, nuts and cheese etc and that I can do during Maintenance. Frankly I almost hate prawn now and I am quite sick of chicken, beef and fish..more bcoz of the protocol cooking style of coz..

I haven't felt fatigue but I don't do much physical work anyway, just office work and light cooking for myself and hubby, whilst other houseworks and cooking for the kids are done by a helper.

On my inches loss definitely now it's coming mainly from my tummy as my apple shape is gone and I now have a flat upper tummy, unseen in 15 years may be.. The lower tummy is still there but much less so I am happy..

Jazz Transition 3 & Jai R2 VLCD 10

Jazz stalled today at 82.1 kg and I lost 300 gm at 61.3 kg this morning. No big deal.. So used to quirkiness of HCG and fasting month is making it a bit more complicated what with no water during the day and early morning meals in the picture.

We had grilled terubuk fish for Iftar, wasn't sure if it's considered as white fleshed but had it anyway with pickled Bragg amino liquid with ACV, chilies and tomatoes. Took our fruits as snacks and later for 5 am Sahur meals, I wanted other variety after so many limited protein meal...so I decided to have 1 boiled egg and 3 egg whites, allowable as a vegetarian option of maximum once a week for non vegetarian. Couldn't even finish that, took half of the portion only and finished it off with an orange.

Let's see if I can release some more fats tomorrow. The progress is supposed to get slower as it nears my ideal weight of 60 kg. I am supposed to feel more hungry and easily tired nearing the ideal weight, so shall see whether that will be the experience... Nonetheless I do feel that this R2 is a breeze as compared to my R1....especially on the hunger department. Smaller tummy I guess..

Jazz is moving onto the next phase Maintenance and can eat higher calories of 1500 cal consisting of many more varieties except starch (Grissini sticks included ), sugar and artificial sweeteners for the next 21 days. This phase is key to keeping his weight stable as the body resets itself to its new lower base level. He has successfully shed 17.6 kg of his weight from his maximum of 99.7 kg in January this year to 82.1 kg that he is now. Well done!! Perseverance pays for those who really want it..

Jazz Transition 2 & Jai R2 VLCD 9

Jazz is at 82.1 kg this morning a loss of 400 gm and I am at 61.6 kg, 300 gm down from yesterday. Nothing interesting to update as we both stayed quite close to protocol for Iftar and early Sahur meals. For Iftar we had roast chicken percik from Ayamas minus the skin and sauces with cabbage soup and for Sahur meals we had baked prawns and fruits.

The fasting so far has been very smooth as the hunger during the day is nothing unbearable.. We just have to drink up more during the night at least 8 glasses of water to ensure enough hydration for fat burning. We miss the great variety of food at Pasar Ramadhan especially the sweet treats but know enough to just get on with the phases for maximum weight loss. We can eat all that we want once we are done with the program, of course more sensibly as that's the best part about this diet...it teaches you about control and eat to live NOT live to eat. Very good lesson for me who used to let food be my world..I loved food too much. Hopefully, going forward I will always be mindful that I am what I eat.
